Josh Hoover, Charlie Becker's Final Box Score Stats, Highlights, Draft Stock After IU's Win vs. UNT

It's no easy task replacing the Heisman Trophy-winning Fernando Mendoza or a first-round pick like wide receiver Omar Cooper Jr., especially after the pair helped lead Indiana to a national championship during the 2025 season.

But at least on Saturday, Josh Hoover and Charlie Becker looked up for the task.

The Hoosiers smoked North Texas in the season debut, 52-16, closing out the fourth quarter with 21 unanswered points.

Suffice to say, folks on social media were feeling pretty good about that pair, especially Hoover playing through a bloodied face after suffering a violent facemask penalty:

As for the rest of the offense, Turbo Richard rushed 15 times for 58 yards and two scores, Grant Wilson had a 43-yard touchdown scamper and both Davion Chandler and Nick Marsh recorded touchdown receptions.

Defensively, Isaiah Jones led the way with 12 tackles, while Quan Sanks recorded an interception. It was a good start for the defending champs across the board.
