Vote for Blue FCU Fort Collins-area Football Player of Week (Week 3)

The Coloradoan is proud to present another aspect of our weekly Athlete of the Week series, partnering with Blue Federal Credit Union to honor the best Fort Collins-area tackle football players throughout the fall 2026 season.

The weekly Fort Collins-area Football Player of the Week poll has five nominees, and fans can vote every Tuesday through Thursday at coloradoan.com/sports .

You can find the nominees and ballot below. Voting is open this week through 11:59 p.m. on Sept. 17 , with the winner announced Sept. 18.

Fans can nominate their favorite players (deadline: 11:59 p.m. every Sunday) and the Coloradoan sports staff will ultimately select the nominees each week.

Meet the Blue FCU Football Player of the Week nominees for Week 3 (Sept. 10-12):

Mason Harris, Poudre LB/EDGE: The Impalas blasted Boulder in a satisfying 52-14 home win. Harris led the charge on defense, recording five tackles (three for loss) with 1.5 sacks, a forced fumble and a fumble recovery in a prolific effort off the edge.

Colton Jantz, Fossil Ridge QB: Jantz had a huge game through the air for a second-straight week. The SaberCat junior went 39-for-54 with 431 passing yards and four touchdowns to nearly lead a big comeback on the road against Monarch.

Eli Lavelle, Wellington QB: The Eagles senior played well in a rowdy road environment at Timnath. Lavelle went 6-for-12 for 127 passing yards and three touchdowns through the air and also added 21 rushing yards and a TD to account for all four Wellington scores in the one-point loss to the Cubs.

Makai Major, Timnath RB: The Cubs senior's stats don't tell the story of how he physically took over in the second half of the thrilling one-point rivalry win over Wellington. Major moved the chains and set a physical tone while running for 95 yards with a touchdown and adding 13 receiving yards in a standout performance.

Max Sipperly, Timnath RB/DB: There could have been a dozen Timnath players here, but Sipperly gets the other nod. The two-way junior made a big impact on both sides of the ball, recording nine tackles (five solo, one for loss) on defense. He added 75 total yards and two touchdowns on offense, including the game-winning score in the final minutes vs. Wellington.
