Five of the top seven teams in the AP Top 25 lost on one of the most chaotic days in recent college football memory.

The top-ranked Georgia Bulldogs were stunned at home by the Auburn Tigers in a game that wasn't supposed to have much impact on the College Football Playoff discussion.

The No. 2 Notre Dame Fighting Irish then fell on the road against the No. 8 BYU Cougars in one of the biggest results in BYU history.

Georgia and Notre Dame's defeats open the door for the Miami Hurricanes to be the No. 1 team in Sunday's AP Top 25.

In addition to UGA and ND, the No. 5 Indiana Hoosiers, No. 6 Alabama Crimson Tide and No. 7 Texas Longhorns all lost on Saturday.

Texas fell to an unranked Florida Gators team that came back from two scores to down Arch Manning and Co.

The No. 5 Indiana Hoosiers and No. 6 Alabama Crimson Tide were on the losing end of Saturday afternoon's biggest games.

Indiana was inches away from pulling off a win over the Ohio State Buckeyes, while Bama fell by two scores on the road to the Tennessee Volunteers.

The Week 7 results will cause a seismic shift in the College Football Playoff projections. Our projected bracket is based off the results after Week 7.

Georgia was stunned at home by Auburn in a game no one thought the Bulldogs would lose.

Kirby Smart's Bulldogs blew a 10-point lead and then came back from 10 points down to level the game at 24-24. Auburn took advantage of a Gunner Stockton fumble to set up the game-winning field goal.

The loss occurred one week after UGA went into Tuscaloosa and beat Alabama.

The Bulldogs will drop from the No. 1 spot in the rankings, but they should still be in contention for a first-round bye because they are 6-1 with a top-10 victory.

UGA has a week off next week to prepare for the closing stretch, which begins with a showdown against Florida in Jacksonville on October 31.

The Bulldogs' biggest remaining test comes the week after in Oxford against the Ole Miss Rebels.

Georgia can still afford one more loss with the 12-team playoff in play, but any more that could cost it a spot in the field.

BYU took advantage of its home field in Provo and downed the No. 2 team in the country.

The eighth-ranked Cougars scored the game-winning touchdown with just under two minutes left in the game.

BYU will most likely jump multiple spots in Sunday's AP Top 25 because of the home win and results elsewhere.

The Cougars have all eyes on November 7 now for their rivalry clash with the Utah Utes, who are also undefeated. That will be one of the biggest games in the rivalry's history and will determine who sits on top of the Big 12 along with the Texas Tech Red Raiders.

Notre Dame will drop spots in the AP poll, but it isn't out of the playoff conversation by any stretch of the imagination.

The Fighting Irish will have a shot at Miami at home on November 7. Miami is one of two ranked ACC teams left on ND's schedule. It also plays the SMU Mustangs on November 21 in South Bend.

No. 4 Ohio State Survives On Road at No. 5 Indiana

Ohio State took hold of the front-runner spot in the Big Ten with a tight win over Indiana.

The Hoosiers were just a few inches shy of a home win, as Nick Marsh's foot was slightly out of bounds as he hauled in a catch on the final play of the game.

Ohio State left Bloomington with a win, but also without its starting quarterback.

Julian Sayin suffered an injury that will keep him out a few weeks, per Ohio State head coach Ryan Day.

Ohio State will have a week off to prepare for their road trip to Los Angeles to face the USC Trojans.

The Buckeyes' schedule isn't too challenging now that the Oregon Ducks, who they host on November 7, are out of the Top 25, but they'll have to navigate it without Sayin for the time being.

As for Indiana, it sits at 6-1 with only one Top 25 opponent, USC, left on its schedule.

The reigning national champion should be in a good spot to land a playoff berth, but it will have to likely win out to land a spot in the top four.

Multiple controversial finishes and more takeaways from CFB Week 7

No. 6 Alabama Loses Second Straight Game

Alabama's CFB Playoff life is in peril after its second consecutive defeat.

The Crimson Tide dropped a road game in Knoxville one week after it lost at home to Georgia.

Alabama is now 5-2 with a road game at the LSU Tigers still on its schedule.

A third loss would most likely keep Kalen Deboer's side out of the playoff.

Tennessee's playoff outlook is now far brighter than it was a week ago. The Vols get LSU and the Kentucky Wildcats at home in their two toughest remaining games.

An 11-1 Tennessee is a real possibility now, and with so many teams at the top losing, the Vols could be poised for a big jump out of the No. 14 spot in Sunday's rankings.
