NFL Week 8 games: Eagles rooting guide
Handy dandy reference material.
The eighth weekend of the 2026 NFL season is here!
Let's run through a Philadelphia Eagles-focused rooting guide for all of the Week 8 games.
PHILADELPHIA EAGLES at WASHINGTON COMMANDERS: The Eagles currently have a 3.7% chance of making the playoffs, according to FTN Fantasy . They have the second-longest odds (+1100 on FanDuel) among NFC teams to qualify for the postseason, only ahead of the Arizona Cardinals (+3500). With this in mind, I don't think it's unfair to be interested in the Eagles maximizing their positioning in the 2027 NFL Draft. At the same time, I don't begrudge any Eagles fans who think that's loser talk and want to see the team win until they're officially eliminated (and perhaps even past that point). With a victory, the Eagles will be 3-5 with a chance to reach 4-5 ahead of their Week 10 bye. With a loss, the Eagles can potentially move as high as No. 2 overall in the draft order.

Vote for your rooting interest in the poll below:
ARIZONA CARDINALS at DALLAS COWBOYS: If you want the Eagles to stay alive in the division, you want to see the Cowboys lose. But even if you prefer the draft positioning angle, it's good to see the Cardinals win to keep Arizona below Philly in the draft order. Root for the Cardinals.
BALTIMORE RAVENS at BUFFALO BILLS: The Eagles own the Ravens' fifth-round pick in the 2027 NFL Draft via the Cam Jurgens trade. Might as well root for it to be as favorable as possible. Root for the Bills.
TENNESSEE TITANS at CINCINNATI BENGALS: The Titans are ahead of the Eagles in the draft order. The Eagles need Tennessee to win to have a chance to move ahead of them. Root for the Titans.
LAS VEGAS RAIDERS at NEW YORK JETS: The 2-5 Jets are currently a bigger threat than the 3-4 Raiders to move ahead of the Eagles in the draft order. Root for the Jets.
CLEVELAND BROWNS at PITTSBURGH STEELERS: With both of these teams currently 5-2, they don't appear to be threatening to move ahead of the Eagles in the draft order. But the angle here is that the Eagles don't want to see the Ravens win the AFC North since Philly owns Baltimore's fifth-round pick. With a win, the Browns will be 6-2 overall and 3-0 in division games, making it more difficult for the Ravens to catch up. Root for the Browns.
ATLANTA FALCONS at TAMPA BAY BUCCANEERS: The 2-5 Bucs are currently a bigger threat than the 3-4 Falcons to move ahead of the Eagles in the draft order. Root for the Buccaneers.
INDIANAPOLIS COLTS at JACKSONVILLE JAGUARS: The Colts are having a fire sale. Due to last year's Sauce Gardner trade (lol), they don't own their own first-round pick in this year's draft. The Jets do. Indy's continued losing threatens to put that owed pick to the Jets ahead of the Eagles in the draft order. Root for the Colts.
LOS ANGELES CHARGERS at LOS ANGELES RAMS: Not sure if the Eagles can actually catch the winless Bolts in the draft order but you can root for it to happen. The Rams losing also helps the Eagles' wild card chances, if you're into that angle. Root for the Chargers.
KANSAS CITY CHIEFS at DENVER BRONCOS: Of these two teams, the Broncos seem like the bigger threat to fall off and threaten the Eagles' draft positioning. Root for the Broncos.
NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS at MIAMI DOLPHINS: The Eagles need the Dolphins to win some more to have a chance at moving ahead of them in the draft order. Also, the Eagles own the more favorable of either New England's or Chicago's 2027 fifth-round pick due to the A.J. Brown trade. Might as well root for the Pats to lose. Root for the Dolphins.
CHICAGO BEARS at SEATTLE SEAHAWKS: Again, the Eagles own the more favorable of either New England's or Chicago's 2027 fifth-round pick due to the A.J. Brown trade. Root for the Seahawks.
MINNESOTA VIKINGS at DETROIT LIONS: The Eagles' chances of earning a wild card spot are very slim; FTN Fantasy puts those odds at 0.3%. But if you're holding out hope for it to happen, you want to see the Lions lose since they're closer to losing their grasp on postseason qualification. Root for the Vikings.
