It's only fitting the first regular-season touchdown in Highmark Stadium belongs to Josh Allen.

The Buffalo Bills quarterback led his team on an 85-yard drive on the first possession of Thursday's game against the Detroit Lions and capped it off with a one-yard touchdown run. It was his 82nd career rushing touchdown, which tied Corey Dillon for 19th in NFL history.

ESPN noted Highmark Stadium cost more than $2.1 billion with a capacity of more than 60,000.

It also features "specific features to combat the Buffalo weather," including underground heating coils to prevent the natural-grass field from freezing and a 360-degree canopy covering approximately 60 percent of the seating bowl.

While the new stadium generated plenty of attention for Thursday's debut, Allen is always the center of attention in Buffalo.

The franchise icon is arguably the best quarterback in the NFL and took home the 2024 MVP. He has four seasons with more than 4,000 passing yards and has led the Bills to the playoffs in each of the last seven years.

If the start of Thursday's game was any indication, he's going to put up some impressive numbers in the new stadium as well.
