Despite the Philadelphia Eagles suffering their sixth straight loss on Sunday against the Washington Commanders, star running back Saquon Barkley made it clear that he wants to stay put.
Barkley addressed his involvement in trade rumors ahead of the Nov. 10 deadline and said that he's not looking for a way out amid the Eagles' struggles.
"I would love to be here," Barkley told reporters after Philadelphia's 27-10 loss to Washington on Sunday Night Football . "I plan on being here. I don't like the way the season is going, but I am not one of those guys that wants to jump ship. That's not the type of person you want to have, and that's not the person I am. I'd rather be a part of a solution to the problem and hopefully be a reason we fix it."
Barkley registered 13 carries for 30 yards and a touchdown and added a 24-yard reception as the Eagles fell to 2-6, ranking last in the NFC East.
NFL Network's Mike Garafolo and Ian Rapoport reported on Sunday that the Eagles "have made it clear to teams they are not considering trading Barkley" because they "believe they have plenty of talent on the roster to compete in 2027 and beyond." However, with one game left before the trade deadline, there's still a chance that Philadelphia's plans could change.
The Eagles have been dealing with injuries to multiple key players, including star quarterback Jalen Hurts, who will miss the rest of the season. Barkley has also been hindered by back and hamstring injuries while trying to shoulder the load on offense. Despite playing through his ailments, his production has slipped, as he has just 274 yards and two touchdowns with no 100-yard games across eight weeks.
While it sounds like Barkley is currently off the table in trade scenarios, Philadelphia could look to offload some of its other top assets amid its lost 2026 season. The team's Week 9 meeting against the New York Giants (4-2-1) could determine how willing it is to sell at the trade deadline.
