Rams' Myles Garrett No. 1 in NFL Network Top 100 Players of 2026; Bills' Josh Allen No. 2

After a record-breaking year, Myles Garrett was named the best player in the NFL by his peers.

The star pass rusher, now with the Los Angeles Rams, was voted No. 1 overall in the NFL's Top 100 rankings on Thursday. He was voted No. 8 in 2025.

Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen was named No. 2 on the coveted list, marking a one-spot increase from last year when he was voted No. 3 by his peers.

Allen, 30, is coming off another tremendous season in which he racked up 3,668 yards, 25 touchdowns and 10 interceptions while rushing for 579 yards and 14 touchdowns.

The Bills finished the season 12-5, losing in the divisional round to the Denver Broncos in overtime.

One of the most creative players, perhaps in league history, Allen is able to beat defenders over the top with deep shots while also finding receivers on short passes after plays break down.

At 6'5", 237 pounds, Allen can also run through and around defenders as well as any quarterback in the NFL today.

The 2024 MVP is sure to put together a strong campaign in 2026, but the biggest knock against Allen is his lack of postseason success. He and the Bills have yet to make it past the AFC Championship Game, often falling short to Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs.

Last year seemed like the best chance Allen has had to reach the Super Bowl since the Chiefs missed the playoffs, but Buffalo ultimately fell short to the Broncos.

A championship ring is the only thing keeping Allen from being in the same conversation with some of the all-time greats, and he'll look to get over the hump this year.

Garrett earning the top spot should come as no surprise given the season he just had.

The 30-year-old proved that he's only getting better with age as he completely wrecked opposing offensive lines on his way to the NFL's single-season sack record.

Garrett finished the 2025 campaign with 23 sacks, breaking the previous record of 22.5, held by Michael Strahan (2001) and T.J. Watt (2021). Garrett's previous career high for sacks was 16, so he reached a completely different level last season.

While Garrett was by far the most impactful defensive player in the NFL last season, it really didn't mean that much since he was on a lowly Cleveland Browns team that finished 5-12.

This year, it's a completely different story.

The Rams made the biggest move of the offseason when they acquired Garrett for linebacker Jared Verse and a haul of draft picks. Los Angeles already boasted one of the best offenses in the NFL, and bringing in Garrett quickly made the Rams the team to watch to win it all in 2026.

To make matters worse for opposing offenses, legendary defensive tackle Aaron Donald came out of retirement to join Garrett on the defensive line, meaning Los Angeles went from having a middling defense in 2025 to one of the best heading into this season.
