Teams around the NFL remain hopeful the Baltimore Ravens will consider trading star running back Derrick Henry, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter .
Schefter reported Sunday the Ravens "keep telling teams he's not available" with Tuesday's trade deadline quickly approaching.
Henry hasn't been a source of regular trade speculation, at least to the extent the Indianapolis Colts' Jonathan Taylor has . But teams might as well ask the question when injuries to quarterbacks Lamar Jackson and Tyler Huntley have cast a shadow on the Ravens' playoff hopes.
Baltimore isn't throwing in the towel, though. The team worked out a deal to acquire Jacoby Brissett from the Arizona Cardinals, which will stabilize the quarterback room.
NFL Network's Ian Rapoport also reported Sunday that Jackson, who needs surgery for a thumb injury, told his teammates he's aiming to return this season.
Jonathan Jones of The Athletic suggested a Henry trade could have wider implications with Jackson under contract for one more season: "Would [Jackson] leave the Ravens? One of the quickest ways to make that hypothetical a reality would be to trade Derrick Henry."
That's unlikely to become an issue. Making a short-term, win-now trade for Brissett and immediately dealing a massive blow to your backfield by offloading Henry makes little sense.
Because of that, it's safe to assume the five-time Pro Bowler will remain in Baltimore through the deadline.
