Simone Biles makes major change to Jonathan Owens’ NFL support after ‘really hard’ season with Bears

Simone Biles has explained why she is no longer traveling to every Colts game to support husband Jonathan Owens. After following him to every Bears game in 2025, Biles said the travel was difficult and wants road weekends free for her own work schedule during the 2026 NFL season. “I will not be traveling to away games this year,” Biles told Us Weekly. She added, “Last year was the first year I went to every single game. That was really hard. I wanted to be there and show up because he shows up for me.”Simone Biles explains why Jonathan Owens’ road games are differentBiles has already followed that plan this season. She attended Indianapolis’ home opener against the Baltimore Ravens on September 13 but did not travel when the Colts played the Kansas City Chiefs on September 20. She was back at Lucas Oil Stadium on September 27 for the Houston Texans game, where Indianapolis won 19-17.Biles also explained that being at an NFL game can take up more of her time than simply sitting in the stands. When family and friends come to watch Owens, she often helps look after them while he prepares for the game and handles his recovery.“When we have family and friends coming in to watch Jonathan at the games, that’s my scheduling,” Biles said. “Keep them entertained so that Jonathan can still do his recovery and get to practices on time and relax as much as possible.”Her decision is also linked to how much she put into the 2025 season. Biles wanted to experience a full NFL season with Owens and made the trip to every game. That included road games with the Bears, while she was also managing her own work and commitments.“I really wanted to be there and do a whole entire season. So I did it. Baby, I’m going to stay at home this year so I can still work those [road] weekends.”Simone Biles still supports Jonathan Owens at home gamesOwens joined the Colts in March 2026 after spending the previous two seasons with the Bears. Biles has continued to show up for him when Indianapolis plays at home. Her appearances at the Ravens and Texans games show that she has changed the travel part of her routine, rather than stopped attending his games altogether. The 2025 season was a much bigger travel commitment for Biles. She followed Owens with Chicago and made road trips during a period when she was also handling her own professional schedule. The experience gave her a full season alongside her husband, but it also showed her how much time those trips required. Now, Biles is taking a different approach. She can still be there for Owens at Colts home games while keeping road weekends available for her own work. For the 2026 season, that means supporting him without making every NFL weekend a travel weekend.Stay updated with the latest Asian Games 2026 news, check the Asian Games medal tally and complete Asian Games schedule.Get the latest Sports News and Live updates.
