Rams sign CB Damarion Williams to practice squad, cut LB Jamie Sheriff
The Rams added a secondary piece to their practice squad who's bounced around the league for a few years.
The Los Angeles Rams made a pair of practice squad moves, according to the NFL transaction wire, signing cornerback Damarion Williams and releasing linebacker Jamie Sheriff .
Williams, 28, is a 5-foot-10, 183-pound corner who finished his college career at Houston. The Baltimore Ravens selected him in the fourth round (141st overall) of the 2022 NFL Draft. Williams appeared in 14 games as a rookie, totaling 24 tackles (15 solo), one tackle for loss and two pass breakups. He played in one game in 2023. In 15 career games, he has yet to start and has no interceptions or sacks.
Williams has bounced around since the Ravens drafted him in the fourth round in 2022. Baltimore waived him in August 2024, and he later landed with the Seahawks and Buccaneers, spending time on both practice squads. Tampa Bay waived him Aug. 30 and then from injured reserve Sept. 3, making the Rams his fourth organization.
Sheriff, 26, is a 6-foot-1, 254-pound linebacker who played at Mississippi Gulf Coast and South Alabama. Sheriff has appeared in three NFL games: two in 2024, one with Carolina and one with Seattle, and one with the Seahawks in 2025. He has one career tackle, which came in 2025, and is a one-time Super Bowl champion.
Sheriff went undrafted in 2024 and signed with Seattle, was claimed by Carolina the day after Seattle waived him, and played 17 snaps in the Panthers' Week 1 loss. He returned to the Seahawks' practice squad that September and stayed with Seattle until he was waived Aug. 30, making the Rams his third team.
Both moves are practice squad transactions and do not affect the Rams' 53-man roster.
