Bijan Robinson Clarifies Viral Remarks About Kevin Stefanski's Falcons Locker Room Speech

Atlanta Falcons star running back Bijan Robinson provided some clarification after comparing head coach Kevin Stefanski's locker room speech to civil rights activist Martin Luther King Jr. following the team's 0-2 start.

"Yup I just saying stuff sometimes lol. Was a awesome speech for the team though," Robinson wrote in a Friday post on X.

The Falcons fell to the Pittsburgh Steelers and Carolina Panthers in their first two games of the 2026 season, but bounced back with a 35-14 victory over the Green Bay Packers on Thursday night.

Stefanski joked about Robinson's comparison following the win against Green Bay.

"I don't think Dr. King used as many f-bombs as I did," Stefanski said Friday, per ESPN's Marc Raimondi .

He's in the midst of his first year patrolling the sidelines for the Falcons after he was hired as their head coach on Jan. 17.

Despite the slow start to the season, Atlanta's offense put together a dominant performance on Thursday night.

The Falcons finished with 498 total yards, as they didn't punt during the second half of the contest.

Robinson was a key part of Atlanta's success, as the two-time Pro Bowler finished with 194 rush yards and two touchdowns on 29 carries. He also caught two passes for 19 yards.

The 24-year-old has already amassed 349 yards on the ground through three appearances in 2026 after racking up 2,298 all-purpose yards and 11 total touchdowns during his 2025 campaign.

It's worth noting that Thursday marked the season debut of quarterback Michael Penix Jr., who played in his first game since Nov. 2025 after recovering from a torn ACL .

Backup passer Cooper Rush started for Atlanta during the first two weeks of the year.

Now, the Falcons will look to continue building momentum during a Week 4 clash with the New Orleans Saints.
