Darius Slayton spent seven seasons with the New York Giants before they released him in early September 2026.By mid-September, he found a new home with the Indianapolis Colts, where he reunited with former Giants teammate Daniel Jones. The Colts thought Slayton would fill in for injured wide receiver Alec Pierce, but it never happened. As per Big Blue View’s Ed Valentine, Slayton suffered a knee injury that kept him out of Indianapolis’ lineup in Week 5.The 29-year-old Auburn alum is now without a team. Right now, the Kansas City Chiefs, New Orleans Saints, New York Jets, Dallas Cowboys, and Tennessee Titans are among the franchises worth monitoring, as they need wide receiver help. They could sign him.Darius Slayton’s career stats make him an intriguing midseason signingThe 6-foot-1, 198-pounder Darius Slayton has recorded 296 receptions for 4,435 receiving yards [15.0 average] and 22 touchdowns playing for the New York Giants. He established himself as a dependable deep threat. Adonai Mitchell is dealing with a finger injury. No additional depth could prove useful. If the team determines its receiving corps needs reinforcement, then Slayton's experience could come in handy. The Dallas Cowboys already have established targets in CeeDee Lamb and George Pickens. However, Slayton could provide another experienced receiver for Dak Prescott, who was recently shamed for losing a Week 5 game to a rookie QB Jalon Daniels.Slayton could help, particularly if Dallas wants more depth in its passing attack.
