Richard Sherman Reveals Josh Allen Had 'Flu Game' After QB's 5-TD Performance vs. Lions

Josh Allen was unbelievable while leading the Buffalo Bills to a 41-31 victory over the Detroit Lions on Thursday.

It turns out, he may have been sick as well.

"You were shivering in the hot tub before the game," Richard Sherman told Allen on Prime's Thursday Night Football postgame show (h/t Fox Sports ). "You're getting IVs. You don't want to admit it, but you were having a flu game."

Allen didn't confirm or deny he was sick and responded by saying he was "just trying to do my job."

Allen went 20-of-31 through the air for 248 yards, three touchdowns and zero interceptions while adding 69 yards and two more scores on the ground. He was responsible for five of Buffalo's six touchdowns with the final one coming from James Cook III with fewer than three minutes remaining.

Cook was also excellent, though, with 21 carries for 135 yards and one touchdown.

About the only downside for the Bills offense was wide receiver DJ Moore exiting with a shoulder injury , as Detroit looked completely overwhelmed whenever Allen was on the field. If he had time, he fired strikes downfield to Dalton Kincaid or Keon Coleman. If he was pressured, he simply used his legs to create space and pick up yards to keep the chains moving.

It was a quarterback masterclass, and his team is the first in the NFL to reach 2-0 as a result.

And if he did it all while sick, it's daunting to think about how dominant he will be moving forward this season when he is healthy.
