Already loaded with a tremendous amount of 2027 draft capital, the New York Jets don't plan to move Garrett Wilson before the trade deadline to add more to their cache.
ESPN's Adam Schefter cited a well-placed source who said there is "no way" the Jets trade Wilson before the Nov. 10 deadline.
Schefter added the Jets have "no interest" in dealing their star wide receiver, who is loved by people at the top of the organization and they "would want no part" of trading Wilson.
Insider: 'All Hell' to Break Loose at Deadline
Wilson's name has been speculated about in trades for some time, but it increased during the Jets' Week 7 loss to the Miami Dolphins. He was seen on the CBS telecast at one point in the fourth quarter having what looked like a heated discussion with quarterback Geno Smith and pass game coordinator Seth Ryan.
Wilson downplayed the interaction after the game, telling reporters he was just "disappointed" with how the team was playing.
"We were collaborating. I don't even think I was talking to Geno," Wilson said. "I think we were both heated, but not at each other at all. We were just disappointed with how we were playing up to that point and wanted to be a little more aggressive."
Head coach Aaron Glenn said on Monday the situation was being "overblown" and Wilson was trying more to hype up the offense to get that unit going.
Amid the ongoing trade speculation, Wilson told reporters on Wednesday he has no intention of asking for a trade and wants to remain with the Jets.
There hasn't really been any substantial talk of Wilson being moved at this point. Some of it is because the Jets don't really need draft assets and he can be a huge value to them, especially if they add a young quarterback in the 2027 draft.
New York already owns three first-round picks in the upcoming draft. Based on the current standings , all three selections would be in the top 12.
Wilson is only 26 and has four years remaining on his current contract after this season.
Even with all of the struggles the Jets have had so far in 2026, Wilson is on pace for his fourth 1,000-yard season in five years. He has 444 yards and three touchdowns through seven games.
