In light of Robert Kraft getting Macklemore banned from several NFL stadiums, Colin Kaepernick has suggested that the New England Patriots owner did the same to him.

Kaepernick's decision to kneel during the national anthem in 2016 proved to be the end of his career, as the former San Francisco 49ers quarterback never got an opportunity to return to the NFL following the incident.

Kaepernick was not offered a contract by any NFL team in free agency, following which he filed an official complaint alleging collusion by NFL owners.

Colin Kaepernick suggests Robert Kraft did the same thing to him as he did to Macklemore

Recently, New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft has come under fire for allegedly orchestrating a ban against Macklemore following his comments during an Ed Sheeran concert.

Speaking on the Meidas Touch podcast, Colin Kaepernick claims that this is exactly what Kraft did to him when he entered free agency in 2017.

"The part that I hope people appreciate and take away in this moment is what Robert Kraft and what they're saying by denying Macklemore the opportunity to go out and perform with Ed Sheeran is they are willing to collude. They are openly colluding.

"When we filed the grievance, it was like, well, the owners wouldn't do that,. Everybody just wants to win within the NFL.

"And the realisation is, no. They want to protect their interests. They want to protect their power. They want to protect their money.

"And they also want people to know that if you take an action that they don't agree with, they will come for you."

Kaepernick, as mentioned previously, filed a grievance against the NFL owners for colluding against him to keep him out of the league.

Two years later, in February of 2019, the NFL reached a settlement with Kaepernick over the matter. However, there was still no change on the league's stance about bringing him back.

While Kaepernick kept himself in shape and available to return to the league, no opportunity materialised. Now 38 years old, Kaepernick is unlikely to make a return to the NFL.
