Giants Running Back Cam Skattebo Celebrates First Touchdown of the Season with Signature Backflip

Cam Skattebo celebrated his first touchdown of the season with his signature backflip in the Giants' Week 1 win over the Cowboys

The touchdown marked Skattebo's return after a season-ending ankle injury last October

Fans were unsure if he would perform the flip after a mishap during a summer Fanatics Fest appearance

Cam Skattebo is back like he never left!

The New York Giants running back, 24, performed his signature backflip in the end zone to celebrate his first touchdown of the season in Big Blue's home opener against the Dallas Cowboys at MetLife Stadium on Sunday, Sept. 13.

Skattebo scored a three-yard rushing touchdown in the first quarter to give the Giants an early 7-0 lead in their eventual 28-20 victory over the Cowboys. In classic Skatt fashion, he launched himself into a roundoff flip followed by a backflip to commemorate putting points on the board.

The touchdown was especially significant for the second-year running back, whose rookie season was cut short last October when he suffered a brutal, season-ending ankle injury .

It was an electric scene at MetLife Stadium on Sunday night, as quarterback Jaxson Dart tossed three touchdowns to give new coach John Harbaugh a win in his debut.

Entering Sunday's game, it was unclear if Skattebo would perform his signature celebration following a mishap at Michael Rubin's multi-day Fanatics Fest in New York City over the summer.

At the time, Skattebo stepped onto the Fanatics Fest stage, lifted his pant leg to show off the massive scar on his right leg and then launched into a backflip in front of the crowd. However, his landing wasn't stable and he awkwardly fell to the ground.

The running back later ensured fans he would "not hurt" himself before the season began.

Skattebo cited the "bouncy" floor — a WWE runway that Fanatics set up for athletes to get a wrestling-style entrance — as the reason for his stumble.

A fourth-round pick by the Giants in 2025, Skattebo tallied 410 yards and five touchdowns before last season's injury.

The Giants visit the Los Angeles Rams in Week 2 on Monday, Sept. 21.
