Was last Sunday Davante Adams last game with the Rams?
Davante Adams could be back in six weeks, he could basically miss the rest of the season
As Davante Adams hits injured reserved for an expected 6-10 weeks , it's fair to wonder if he suits up for the Los Angeles Rams again? If Adams' recovery takes the full 10 weeks, that puts the Rams in Week 16 or 17. If the Rams haven't turned their season around , what is the point of Adams suiting up for a meaningless game?
If Adams can come back this year, that's very exciting for him and the Rams. Still, how healthy will he be? How hindered or recovered will he be from his ruptured hamstring?
The 33-year-old Adams was on a nice pace for L.A. in 2026 with 480 yards and four touchdowns, but his injury puts him at risk of basically missing the rest of the season, and missing his remaining time with the Rams.
Adams hits free agency in 2027. Unless a new deal is worked out, or unless Adams comes back and plays in 2026, then Adams' last game with the Rams was this past Sunday against the Arizona Cardinals.
It would be a disappointing end to his tenure in L.A.
As far as where Adams goes from here, it will depend on his recovery, if he still wants to play and if a team would be interested. Then there is the contract to work out. The future of Adams in the NFL isn't certain.
Adams was signed as a missing piece to the offense in 2025 and he was. He scored 19 touchdowns his regular seasons and postseason combined after joining up with Sean McVay and Matthew Stafford.
Adams was/is past his prime, and he still was (is?) very good for McVay and the Rams. He came in to functionally replace Cooper Kupp as a veteran wide receiver who could produce, and he did that.
He added to his Hall of Fame resume when he led the NFL with 14 receiving scores in 2025.
But Adams came to L.A. to win a Super Bowl , and that doesn't look likely to happen. As of October 2026, the Rams sit at 2-4 with a real chance to miss the playoffs .
Funnily enough, Kupp won the Super Bowl in 2025 with the Seattle Seahawks. Not Adams. Six weeks into 2026 and another NFC West team is vying for the Super Bowl, but it's the San Francisco 49ers, not the Rams.
Was Adams time in L.A. a success? Yes. Did his time in L.A. deliver what he and the Rams wanted? Unless they win the Super Bowl in 2026, then not exactly.
Adams has been to the NFC Championship Game five times, but the Super Bowl zero. Five NFC Championship losses are both something to be disappointed in, and something to be proud of. Will Adams get the chance to reach a sixth? Unless something changes, it won't be with the Rams. That ship may have sailed , and his time playing days for the Rams, may be behind him.
