TE Dae'Quan Wright waiting to hear if he can return to NFL after flirtation with LSU

Tight end Dae'Quan Wright's bid to return to college football came to an end on Tuesday when LSU filled out their roster with other players amid threats from the SEC to pursue expelling the school from the conference due to their desire to add players who spent time in the NFL this summer.

Wright was signed by the Browns after going undrafted out of Ole Miss and waived last month, but was granted eligibility to return to the collegiate ranks by a Baton Rouge judge. With that door closed, Wright's agent Drew Rosenhaus told ESPN that his client is now waiting to hear from the NFL if he's eligible to play in the league this year.

Rosenhaus said multiple teams have shown interest about signing Wright in the event that he's cleared to be in the league. He also said that Wright is considering legal options in the wake of LSU's decision to go with other players.

Defensive lineman Zxavian Harris, who was also at Ole Miss last year, was also trying to play for LSU after spending time with the Saints this offseason.
