Bills to Play Canadian National Anthem Before 1st Game at New Highmark Stadium vs. Lions

The Buffalo Bills will have performers sing both Canada's national anthem, "O Canada," and "The Star-Spangled Banner" before the team's Sept. 17 home opener against the Detroit Lions, the first game at the new Highmark Stadium.

Canadian band Barenaked Ladies will perform "O Canada."

The NHL's Buffalo Sabres perform both anthems before their home games given the city's proximity to Canada.

Per The Canadian Press, "The Bills also have deep ties north of the border, with the team saying last year that Canadian residents accounted for an average of 10-15 per cent of its season-ticket base."
