We're already at the doorstep of Week 3, and some fantasy managers may be scrambling to fill in starting lineups. The past week brought more injuries, and there is no shortage of uncertain statuses entering the weekend.
Fortunately, some deep sleepers may still be available on the waiver wire.
Here, you'll find updated rankings for Week 2, a cheat sheet of potential value starts, and a look at some top waiver targets. All rankings and picks are based on point-per-reception (PPR) scoring.
Christian McCaffrey, San Francisco 49ers
Sleeper: Bryce Young, QB, Carolina Panthers
Managers who lost Caleb Williams, Jayden Daniels, or Jaxson Dart to injury in Week 2 may need to find a plug-and-play starter off the waiver wire. Carolina Panthers signal-caller Bryce Young could be the perfect option.
Young has been fantastic to this point, passing for 648 yards and a league-high six touchdowns (tied). He has also added a rushing score.
This week, Young will face a Cleveland Browns defense that looked competent in Week 2 but was a total disaster in Week 1. He'll be on the road in an unfriendly environment, but it's hard to envision Young totally flopping this week.
The Browns have surrendered an average of 19.5 fantasy points to opposing QBs. Young is rostered in only 41 percent of fantasy leagues.
Sleeper: Adonai Mitchell, WR, New York Jets
New York Jets wide receiver Adonai Mitchell has topped 60 receiving yards in each of the first two weeks, and he's coming off a six-reception game against the Green Bay Packers. Those aren't eye-popping numbers, but Mitchell has legitimate flex value in Week 3.
The Jets are set to visit the Detroit Lions, who have surrendered the fourth-most fantasy points to opposing wide receivers. The Lions are also likely to focus heavily on limiting No. 1 Jets receiver Garrett Wilson, which should give Mitchell some big-play opportunities.
The third-year receiver is still a bit of a risk-reward option because New York could lean on the run in an effort to keep Detroit's offense off the field. However, he's worth a flier in a week that could be without several top quarterbacks and wide receivers like Puka Nacua and Nico Collins.
Michell is rostered in just 19 percent of leagues.
