Baltimore Ravens star quarterback Lamar Jackson has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Cincinnati Bengals, the team announced Saturday.

Jackson was previously listed as questionable heading into Baltimore's Week 7 matchup due to a a high ankle sprain. He was a limited participant in practice on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday ahead of the AFC North clash.

"Right now, I'm headed in the right direction," Jackson told reporters Friday. "I can't call it right now, still got a grace period. We'll see, man, hopefully. But I feel like I'm heading in the right direction right now."

He initially suffered the ankle sprain during Baltimore's 24-18 win over the Tennessee Titans in Week 4.

The Ravens have turned to backup quarterback Tyler Huntley in Jackson's absence, and will do so again Sunday.

Huntley led the Ravens to a 30-23 overtime win against the Atlanta Falcons in Week 5 before falling to the Cleveland Browns in Week 6.
