The Los Angeles Chargers could be big players at the NFL trade deadline . LA is one of only two winless teams headed into Week 7 of the 2026 season. Despite their terrible start to the season, LA is reportedly more interested in winning games than gaining value at the deadline.

NFL insiders Ian Rapoport and Adam Schefter shared some intel about the deadline in their latest article. They addressed trade rumors surrounding Khalil Mack and why he may not be on the move.

"There is expected to be interest in Mack from teams like the Chicago Bears , but the Los Angeles Chargers have given no indication that they are willing to make any trades at this time," Rapoport and Schefter wrote. "The Chargers (0-6) insist they are trying to win games, but that doesn't mean they're not going to get calls on Mack in the coming weeks."

Chicago is one team that is commonly connected to Mack. After all, the Bears did trade for him before back in 2018.

But history is not the only reason why Mack makes sense for the Bears. Chicago desperately needs to add talent on the edges, and Mack is an established veteran on a one-year contract. That makes him an ideal trade candidate in part because he should not cost that much.

However, the Chargers may not trade Mack at all if they truly want to keep competing this season. Remember, LA has not technically been eliminated from postseason contention just yet. But that possibility is coming up quickly. In fact, only a few more losses could put the playoffs out of reach for LA.

The Chargers are on their bye in Week 7, giving them plenty of time to mull over their future.

It will be fascinating to see if LA changes their tune about trades if their losing streak continues in Week 8.
