Baltimore Ravens backup quarterback Tyler "Snoop" Huntley is expected to miss the remainder of the 2026 NFL season due to a turf toe injury, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter .

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport added that the injury requires surgery, and is similar to the turf toe issue that caused Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow to miss 10 games last season.

In addition to Huntley being on the shelf, Ravens starting quarterback Lamar Jackson is out for at least the next month after being placed on injured reserve due to a thumb injury requiring surgery.

After missing three games with an ankle injury, Jackson returned to start against the Buffalo Bills this past weekend, but he hurt his thumb on Baltimore's first offensive play from scrimmage.

Jackson was removed from the game, did not return and was later seen with a brace on his throwing hand and thumb.

Huntley, who had started the previous three games, replaced Jackson, but he only lasted 10 plays himself before having to be removed in favor of emergency third quarterback Joe Fagnano.

With Fagnano playing most of the game, the Ravens went on to suffer a one-sided, 36-10 loss.

Huntley, 28, has been a reliable backup for Baltimore for the past six seasons, starting 14 games for the Ravens during that time.

A Pro Bowl selection in 2022 when he went 2-2 as a starter and helped lead the Ravens to the playoffs in Jackson's absence, Huntley is 6-8 overall as the Ravens' starter, including a 1-2 mark this season.

Appearing in five games overall this season, Huntley was completing 69.1 percent of his passes for 727 yards, four touchdowns and one interception, while also rushing for 76 yards and a score.

With Huntley now out for the rest of the campaign and head coach Jesse Minter calling Jackson's injury "potentially" season-ending as well, the Ravens are now turning to Fagnano.

The undrafted rookie out of UConn has already been named the starter for Baltimore's game against the Jacksonville Jaguars on Thursday night.

Fagnano largely struggled in his first taste of NFL action against Buffalo, going 10-of-21 for 91 yards with no touchdowns and one interception, while getting sacked three times and fumbling once.

The Ravens could possibly make a deal for a quarterback ahead of the Nov. 10 trade deadline, and Fagnano's performance in a tough game against the Jags may play a role in that decision.

As things stand, the Ravens are 4-4 and still very much in the playoff race in the AFC, so going out and getting a veteran quarterback who can potentially keep them in contention may be a major priority for the front office over the next week.
