Vikings projected to land Big Ten QB in new 2027 NFL Mock Draft
Jayden Maiava is an interesting quarterback prospect in the 2027 class and the Vikings get him in a new mock draft.
The 2027 NFL Draft will take place in Washington, D.C. next year. In that draft, the Vikings still have their first-round pick, but a lot could happen in the next 7 months. Before then, though, there will be plenty of speculation and buildup about the team, and who they may add through the draft in a class many are calling one of generational wealth.
CBS Sports' Ryan Wilson recently released the latest 2027 NFL mock draft of the cycle, which has the team going with star quarterback Jayden Maiava. The USC quarterback is coming off the biggest win of his college career over the Ohio State Buckeyes in Week 9.
He explains the pick, writing, "I've been a big Maiava fan since last season. And I love the idea of a rhythm, pocket passer playing in KOC's offense. He's not going to blow you away with his physical tools but he does a lot of things at a very high level."
Maiava is a fun quarterback who has played in some pass-friendly systems. Through it all, his arm talent has never lacked, and it makes him a prospect that could be a lot of fun to develop under Kevin O'Connell.
