New York Giants running back Cam Skattebo did a backflip after scoring a touchdown in his team's 28-20 season-opening win over the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday evening.

Giants fans' hearts may have skipped some beats watching that considering Skattebo suffered right leg injuries (severe right ankle dislocation, broken fibula/tibia fracture and torn deltoid ligament) during a game against the Philadelphia Eagles last October .

However, as Skattebo told his social media followers, he has been "cleared for flipping."

Skattebo did quite well in his first full NFL game back from injury, rushing for 81 yards and a touchdown on 18 carries.

It's clear Skattebo has been cleared for flipping and full workloads, given how much he did Sunday. His tough running helped the Giants control the ball for 36 minutes and 40 seconds on Sunday. In fact, Dallas had the ball only twice in the second half.

Skattebo was the top pick in the fourth round of the 2025 NFL draft. He showed great promise in his rookie season, amassing 617 total yards and seven touchdowns in eight games.

Sadly, Skattebo's season ended prematurely, but he looks 100 percent now.

Skattebo did some offseason flips at the Brian Burns Celebrity Softball Game in May and Fanatics Fest in July. Skattebo didn't land the July one cleanly, leading to a harrowing second or two, but he got up and appeared fine afterward.

Skattebo will hope to perform more end zone back flips on Monday when the Giants visit the Los Angeles Rams.
