Week 2 NFL Power Rankings: Shakeup in the top five after Week 1

The NFL has finally returned. After Week 1, there are a lot of things we can take away. The Baltimore Ravens looked dominant on both sides of the ball, while Josh Allen looks like he could win the MVP again. Chicago 's offense is electric, but they still need a defense. Seattle is certainly a Super Bowl contender, but are the Rams , especially with Myles Garrett out for the next four weeks? Let's take a look at our power rankings as we prepare for Week 2.

The Buffalo Bills offense took an elite Houston Texans defense and made them look sloppy, putting up 36 points and never turning the ball over. On the other side of the ball, the Bills may have allowed Houston to score 31 points, but they came up big in the end with a strip-sack on Texans quarterback C.J. Stroud. Josh Allen had four total touchdowns in this game and is clearly benefiting from the Bills acquiring wide receiver DJ Moore in the offseason.

Derrick Henry is the best running back in the NFL, and he proved it in the opener with 144 rushing yards and three touchdowns. His age doesn't matter, and he is a perfect complement to quarterback Lamar Jackson . Declan Doyle had a good debut as the offensive coordinator for the Ravens. Defensively, they dominated the Indianapolis Colts ' offense and held Jonathan Taylor to under 100 yards, which is really an accomplishment when it comes to Taylor. Maybe this is the Ravens team that finally makes it back to the Super Bowl.

Watching this game, I was really impressed with San Francisco's defense. While I believe jet lag played a role in how sluggish the Los Angeles Rams looked, they still could not get anything going on the ground or through the air. The reigning MVP, Matthew Stafford , finished the game with only 155 passing yards, which was his lowest total since playing the Seattle Seahawks last year. On the offense, Brock Purdy had three passing touchdowns. Mike Evans looked like he is still in his prime, and the 49ers are definitely glad to have Deebo Samuel back.

If this were a ranking of offenses, Chicago would be on top after exploding for 59 points, powered by Caleb Williams four total touchdowns - two on the ground and two through the air - as well as running back D'Andre Swift's three touchdowns. This offense was on another level, but their defense still needs a lot of work. They allowed Panthers receiver Jalen Coker to put up 138 receiving yards and two touchdowns, and quarterback Bryce Young tied his career-high for passing touchdowns. They have a lot of things to fix defensively if they want to get back to the Super Bowl for the first time since 2006.

Seattle still runs through their defense, and it certainly helps to have Jaxon Smith-Njigba on the other side of the ball. The Seahawks would be ranked higher if Sam Darnold had not gotten injured, and he has already been ruled out for Seattle's next game against the Arizona Cardinals . Jadarian Price has had some good runs, but their run game isn't as strong as it was with Kenneth Walker III. Still, the reigning Super Bowl champions cannot be counted out with their elite defense.
