T.J. Bass doing the job while Tyler Smith is out is a big question

How confident are you in T.J. Bass?

· 310 words

Every NFL fan is feeling that same feeling – football is back. While the college game is a couple of weekends in for some teams, the NFL kicks off on Wednesday night. The Dallas Cowboys don't see action until Sunday Night Football . We'll have various game discussion threads for all the games in some capacity. ( Please read this post to know where to find the threads.)

The Cowboys cruised through training camp relatively injury free, but the bug finally caught up with them when we learned that guard Tyler Smith will miss 4-6 weeks with a thumb injury . Smith is a unique talent that is in the top tier of the NFL, so you can't just replace him.

What you want is someone to hold the fort. T.J. Bass will be that guy. He's done it before for Dallas, stepped in for a period of time to for an injury, and he's done it well .

Our question today is do you have confidence in T.J. Bass taking over for the injured Smith? And by that, we don't mean will Bass replace Smith, he can't. But can he do enough to keep this offense humming, keep the ground game going while protecting Dak Prescott ?

Basically, are you confident that the Cowboys will still win the games you thought they would to start the season before you knew Smith was injured? Or do you think this injury will cost us a game or two?

As a bonus question, we want to know if you're confident in the Cowboys overall as we start the season.

Vote in the poll then hit the comments to let us know your thoughts.

Welcome to SB Nation Reacts, a survey of fans across the NFL. Throughout the year we ask questions of the most plugged-in Cowboys fans and fans across the country.
