The Kansas City Chiefs lost wide receiver Rashee Rice early on Sunday afternoon.

Rice pulled up awkwardly with an apparent hamstring injury in the first quarter of KC's matchup with the Las Vegas Raiders.

He caught a short pass on the Chiefs' second drive of the day at Allegiant Stadium and made a move up the right side. Suddenly, Rice stumbled and changed course for the sideline early. He awkwardly started hopping and reached back for the back of his left leg, clearly in significant discomfort.

Further specifics on Rice's injury are not yet known. The team initially called him questionable to return with the hamstring injury, but downgraded him to doubtful to start the second half. He hung around on the sidelines for a little while before finally going back to the locker room.

The catch was Rice's only one of the day, though it was negated by an offsides penalty. He entered Sunday with 190 receiving yards and one touchdown this season, his fourth with the team.

Despite losing Rice, the Chiefs finished the drive with a 2-yard touchdown pass from Patrick Mahomes to Tyquan Thornton. That tied the game up at 7-7 after Kirk Cousins found Ian Thomas for a 27-yard score on the Raiders' first drive of the game. The Raiders entered the locker room with a three-point lead at halftime after hitting a pair of field goals in the second quarter.

Las Vegas is attempting to start 4-0 for the first time since 2002.
