Josh Allen has had another strong start to the 2026 campaign, but the Los Angeles Rams defense had the Buffalo Bills' quarterback's number in the first half of Monday's game.
Allen completed just four of his seven pass attempts for 60 yards, adding 21 yards on the ground through the first two quarters. He also had an interception after throwing into double coverage in the final minute of the half.
The Bills still managed to go into halftime leading 13-7 thanks to a few field goals and a touchdown from James Cook III.
Luckily for the Bills and fantasy managers of Allen, he turned things around and finished the night with 210 passing yards, a touchdown and an interception, adding 121 rushing yards and a score on the ground.
Still, he took some heat from Eli Manning of the Manningcast , as well as NFL fans and fantasy managers on social media after the rough start.
Allen was without one of his top targets, DJ Moore, on Monday, which could explain the slow start, but fans were still expecting a bit more from the former MVP in a primetime matchup against one of the NFL's best teams.
His interception late in the first half could be considered what some call an "arm punt" since it was third and long, but it did give Matthew Stafford and the Rams a chance to score since there was still time on the clock. Luckily for the Bills, they didn't capitalize.
Allen came into Monday's game with 1,039 yards, six touchdowns and three interceptions, along with 118 rushing yards and seven scores on the ground. He's helped the Bills get off to a 4-1 start, but a rough start on Monday could lead to back-to-back losses for Buffalo.
The Bills typically go as Allen goes, but on nights when he doesn't have it, they'll need a big showing from their defense.
