Some Los Angeles Rams coaches caught flak this week after provoking Philadelphia Eagles fans during a 24-20 win, and head coach Sean McVay addressed the situation on Monday.
McVay said that he spoke with the assistant coaches about their behavior and said, "We'll be better in those situations," per ESPN's Sarah Barshop .
After trailing by 10 points with just over eight minutes to go, the Rams managed to cut the deficit to three points with just under four minutes remaining before taking the lead with a touchdown with just over a minute to play.
A handful of coaches appeared to be banging on the windows and making gestures at the Eagles' fans after taking the lead and during Philadelphia's final drive. Some fans responded by shouting back at the coaches and even throwing items at the windows.
McVay was a coordinator at Washington before taking over in Los Angeles, and he said being close to the fans can make "you excited and emotional."
Still, McVay doesn't want his coordinators to repeat what they did on Sunday.
"We'll learn from that," McVay said. "We'll be better. Those fans are really into it, but I know that we want to make sure that we're representing the class and just the calm steadiness that we want to have while also being emotionally into it. And there's ways that we can have that reflected.
"We did talk about it, and that won't be an issue moving forward."
The Rams improved to 2-2 with the come-from-behind win and will look to carry the momentum into next week's contest against the Buffalo Bills. They'll be back in Los Angeles, so there likely won't be any back-and-forth between coordinators and fans.
