Commanders WR Antonio Williams nominated for rookie award
Commanders rookie Antonio Williams had four receptions for 64 yards and a touchdown against the Eagles on Sunday
Commanders receiver Antonio Williams didn't play much but did a ton with the time allotted. The third-round rookie had four receptions for 64 yards and a late fourth-quarter that put Washington within a (ultimately failed) 2-point conversion in Sunday's 24-22 loss to Philadelphia .
He did all that despite playing 26 offensive snaps and running just 10 routes .
That's why Williams was nominated for the Rookie of the Week honor for Week 1, which is selected via fan vote. He's competing against Tampa Bay linebacker Josiah Trotter, Tennessee linebacker Anthony Hill Jr. and Miami receiver Caleb Douglas.
Williams was solid all game. He created separation well and made an excellent TD catch on his final highlight of the day.
