NFL Insider Floats Derrick Henry As Potential Trade Target at Deadline Amid Lamar Jackson Injury

ESPN NFL insider Dan Graziano named Baltimore Ravens running back Derrick Henry as a name to watch ahead of the Nov. 10 NFL trade deadline.
Graziano noted that while he is "not sure how realistic" a Henry trade is, it is something the Ravens could consider should they fall to 4-5 on the season with the loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars on Thursday night.
The Ravens placed superstar quarterback Lamar Jackson on injured reserve this week with a thumb injury that required surgery, and head coach Jesse Minter said it could "potentially" keep him out for the rest of the season.
It was also reported by ESPN's Adam Schefter and NFL Network's Ian Rapoport on Wednesday that backup quarterback Tyler Huntley will miss the rest of the 2026 season with turf toe, meaning Baltimore will turn to undrafted rookie Joe Fagnano at quarterback this Thursday.
Of course, the Ravens could try to remain in the playoff hunt by adding at the trade deadline and picking up a quarterback, but they could also go in the other direction, and Henry would be a massive trade chip if they do.
Graziano noted that Henry has a base salary of only $1.255 million this season, as the Ravens already paid him $14 million in bonuses. That means it would be easy for another team to take on his contract.
Set to turn 33 on Jan. 4, Henry is signed through next season, although his $12 million salary is not guaranteed.
A five-time Pro Bowler and one-time First Team All-Pro, Henry is widely regarded as one of the greatest running backs of all time and a likely future Hall of Famer.
Henry averaged over 5.0 yards per carry in his first two seasons with the Ravens, and although that number has dipped to 4.0 yards per carry this season, he has still been effective in the form of rushing for 632 yards and eight touchdowns, while also catching 12 passes for 75 yards and a score.
He has been at his best this season with a healthy Jackson under center, as Henry rushed for 374 yards and seven touchdowns over the first four games before Jackson missed three contests with an ankle injury.
A contending team with a solid passing game who needs help at running back could make sense as a destination for Henry with the likes of the Denver Broncos, Green Bay Packers and Seattle Seahawks standing out as potential options.
There is no guarantee the Ravens will look to move on from Henry, especially since he is under contract next season, but he could be a possible game-changer should Baltimore decide to test the trade market.
