Myles Garrett and Mike Evans debuted with their new teams during Thursday night's Week 1 action in Australia.

Garrett saw his first action with the Los Angeles Rams while Evans made his debut appearance with the San Francisco 49ers in Melbourne.

Thursday's matchup marked the NFL's first regular-season game in Australia.

Garrett played the first nine seasons of his NFL career with the Cleveland Browns before he was traded in June to the Rams.

He sat out his first preseason with the Rams while dealing with swelling in his knee.

Evans spent 12 seasons with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers before signing with the San Francisco 49ers.

He was similarly sidelined for the Niners' preseason due to minor groin, quad and adductor injuries .

Evans wasn't the only player to make Week 1 injury return for the 49ers.

Defensive end Nick Bosa, tight end George Kittle and linebacker Fred Warner were all active for the season opener after recovering from injuries that ended their 2025 seasons.

The only player ruled out for the Rams was Aaron Donald, who is still working his way toward an NFL comeback after last seeing action during the 2023 season.
