The first month of the fantasy football season is complete, and now it's time for managers to have their in-season strategies tested. That's right, bye weeks have arrived, and both the Carolina Panthers and Kansas City Chiefs will skip Week 5.

This means that players like Patrick Mahomes, Bryce Young, Tetairoa McMillan, and Kenneth Walker III will be unavailable, along with the growing list of injured fantasy stars.

Knowing who to play, who to avoid, and where to find viable sleepers will be a big challenge in the coming weeks. Here, you'll find early rankings and a few sleepers to consider targeting on the waiver wire for Week 5.

All rankings, picks, and analysis are based on point-per-reception (PPR) scoring.

Sleeper: Jacoby Brissett, Arizona Cardinals

The Arizona Cardinals might not win a ton of games in 2026, but they have a bevy of talented offensive weapons. Quarterback Jacoby Brissett has become a sensible streamer because of this, and he had a terrific matchup against the Detroit Lions in Week 5.

The Lions have surrendered the most fantasy points to opposing quarterbacks this season, and they just let Bryce Young go off for 329 yards and two touchdowns. While Brissett was held to just 13.4 fantasy points by the New York Giants on Sunday, he should rebound nicely against the visiting Lions.

Brissett is rostered in only 14 percent of fantasy leagues.

Christian McCaffrey, San Francisco 49ers

Sleeper: Keaton Mitchell, Los Angeles Chargers

Omarion Hampton is still the Los Angeles Chargers' top running back. However, the Chargers appear to be leaning into a backfield committee, of which Keaton Mitchell is a prominent part.

Mitchell led L.A. with 10 carries on Sunday and added five receptions for his second-straight outing of double-digit fantasy points. He could make it three in a row this week against the Denver Broncos.

Denver's defense isn't what it was a year ago, and the Broncos have surrendered an average of 24.4 fantasy points to opposing backfields. Mitchell is rostered in only 31 percent of fantasy leagues.

Buffalo Bills receiver D.J. Moore aggravated his shoulder injury in Week 4, and his eventual absence likely played a role in the explosion of third-year receiver Keon Coleman.

The much-maligned receiver was terrific against the New England Patriots, grabbing six of seven targets for 116 yards and a touchdown. While Moore's injury isn't considered to be a long-term issue, Coleman is worth picking up ahead of this week's matchup with the Los Angeles Rams.

Los Angeles has been fairly middle-of-the-road against receivers in fantasy (25.8 points allowed on average), and Buffalo is likely to lean on Josh Allen on the road. Coleman is rostered in only eight percent of fantasy leagues.

Sleeper: Mike Gesicki, Cincinnati Bengals

The Cincinnati Bengals lost their second consecutive game on Sunday. They also lost star receivers Ja'Marr Chase (concussion) and Tee Higgins (adductor) to injuries along the way.

If one or both wideouts can't go against the Miami Dolphins this week, Cincinnati is likely to lean heavily on pass-catching tight end Mike Gesicki. He often operates like a big slot target and has topped 10 fantasy points three times this season.

The Dolphins have surrendered an average of 15 fantasy points to opposing TEs. Gesicki is rostered in only 11 percent of fantasy leagues.
