NFL Injury Report, Week 4: Latest news, updates on Justin Jefferson, De'Von Achane more for fantasy football

We're going over what should be a lengthy NFL injury report for fantasy football managers in Week 4.

· 1,116 words

It never gets any easier for fantasy football managers. It feels like we've seen an abnormal amount of injured players through three weeks of the 2026 NFL season. Not that we're keeping track or anything (we are). Last week, QBs were the big storyline as Caleb Williams , Jaxson Dart and Jayden Daniels went down. This week, it was skill position players and lineup mainstays De'Von Achane, Justin Jefferson and Breece Hall who were hurt (among others). Let's go over the injury report and what to do if you have some key injured players in fantasy.

Jaxson Dart, NYG (knee) — Out for season

Mayfield : Just when we thought we were clear of any new QB injuries … Mayfield left Sunday's loss to the Vikings with a dislocated right thumb . Head coach Todd Bowles told reporters on Monday that Mayfield will miss three weeks . That would put the QB in line to return in Week 7 vs. the Panthers. Jalon Daniels came in late in relief and he will get the first crack to replace Mayfield. Tampa Bay could also explore outside options as well if Mayfield is out long-term. Either way, this is a big downgrade for what was already a struggling Bucs passing game. It'll be difficult to trust players like Emeka Egbuka , Chris Godwin Jr. and Bucky Irving in fantasy.

Daniels : The Commanders say Daniels will be back at practice this week. Whether or not he'll be ready for Week 4 against the Colts is still to be seen. It would be surprising to see Daniels back so soon, but we'll see how his practice reports look this week. In any case, Marcus Mariota was solid in the Week 3 upset win over the Seahawks.

De'Von Achane, MIA (torn ACL) — Out for season

Achane : Miami lost its top running back early in the loss to the Chiefs on Sunday. And the worst was reported by ESPN Monday morning with Achane suffering a torn ACL , ending his 2026 season. Miami was already trending toward being one of the bottom-dwellers of the NFL and fantasy world this season. Losing Achane is the worst-possible scenario. With Achane sidelined, you can't really replace the type of player he is and that type of early-round draft capital. Ollie Gordon II will get the first crack to be RB1 with Jaylen Wright inactive against Kansas City . If you have Achane on your roster, your top waiver priority this week should be Gordon.

Hall : It's a quad injury for Hall, who was tackled awkwardly late in the loss to Detroit . Hall is being considered week-to-week, per NFL Network's Ian Rapoport . If Hall misses the next game, Braelon Allen figures to get the bulk of the work out of the backfield, and is another solid waiver wire target this week. Isaiah Davis could be a target in deeper formats.

Etienne : It had been a underwhelming start to Etienne's tenure in New Orleans . This is just more bad in a sea of bad. To make matters worse, Etienne was having an OK game before exiting against the Raiders in Week 3. He had 15 touches (including two catches) and 70 total yards — not bad production with room for more. Tyler Shough also threw four TDs to tight ends in the red zone, so one of those TDs could have gone to Etienne in another universe. Alas, now he's on the mend and is expected to miss some time. With Etienne sidelined, Alvin Kamara and Kendre Miller will handle the bulk of the RB snaps with CJ Donaldson mixing in as well.

Jefferson : JJ was forced to leave the Vikings' matchup with the Bucs on Sunday early due to an ankle issue. We'll need more info and to see how practice goes this week as Minnesota preps for a game against the Dolphins in Week 4. NFL Network reported Jefferson is dealing with an ankle sprain but imaging was good , so there's a chance he's out there Sunday. If Jefferson is out, Jordan Addison becomes an attractive start. He had a 5-90-1 line for the Vikings against Tampa Bay. The matchup against Miami is juicy but the passing game could be limited given what we saw from Kyler Murray .

Nacua : The star wide receiver missed a second straight game with groin and hip issues. The team believes it's possible Nacua will be back in Week 4, per ESPN's Adam Schefter . With that said, it's still possible Nacua could undergo surgery on his groin. If the wideout doesn't show improvement, a procedure would be the next option. The team, however, does not believe Nacua needs to have surgery to correct the issue.

Evans : The Niners' top wideout was forced to exit with after taking a hard hit to his side/back . He was carted to the locker room and appeared to be struggling to breathe a bit while leaving the field . The 49ers say Evans suffered a rib strain in the game and NFL Network reported Monday the wideout is day-to-day . If Evans is out, add him to the list for San Francisco , which is already down Ricky Pearsall and Demarcus Robinson . Deebo Samuel Sr. and George Kittle will continue to lead the passing game with Jordan Watkins , a second-year wideout, being an interesting deep-league add.

Coker: The young receiver started the season strong, but was forced to leave early in Carolina's loss at Cleveland . Coker is reporteldy dealing with a quad strain and is considered questionable for this Sunday's night's game against the Lions. It's a great matchup if Coker is able to play as Detroit's defense has been fantasy friendly so far this season.
