Last year in Dec. 2025, Jake Paul suffered a humiliating sixth-round loss to heavyweight Anthony Joshua . Following a strike to the jaw , Paul suffered a knockout loss. He later had to undergo immediate broken-jaw surgery and was indefinitely suspended from boxing.
Now months after the surgery, Paul was finally cleared for his in-ring comeback, and he is now set to box in Dubai on Dec. 24, 2026 in his comeback fight. However, ahead of his fight, his MVP co-founder Nakisa Bidarian appeared for an interview with Sky Sports, where he claimed that Paul could still beat Joshua with proper preparation.
"I was pretty vocal that I didn't want him to do the fight on three weeks' notice," Bidarian said. "He did better than the guy Anthony Joshua fought in July [Prenga] and was not KO'd.

"I don't think it was a massive overshoot; Jake landed quite a few times on AJ [Anthony Joshua], and you saw in July AJ is vulnerable, but it was too fast, not enough prep time. He was cutting weight to fight Gervonta Davis and then suddenly fighting a guy who was 40lbs naturally heavier than him. If Jake had to do that with the right training camp, he'd have a really good shot at beating AJ," he said.
Recently, in another interview with Sun Sport, Bidarian had opened up about Paul's intentions regarding a rematch against Joshua . "Truthfully, he wants to fight Anthony Joshua again. That to him is ideal, but I think he was saying he'd fight either guy," he claimed. However, as of now, neither Joshua nor Paul has addressed the rematch chances.
