Former Panthers DL signs with Cardinals practice squad

A former Carolina Panthers defender has himself a new team.

As announced on Tuesday, the Arizona Cardinals have signed defensive end Jared Harrison-Hunte to their practice squad. The second-year lineman was waived as part of the Panthers' cutdown to their initial 53-man roster on Sunday.

Carolina signed Harrison-Hunte as an undrafted free agent in the spring of 2025, after his lone year at Southern Methodist University. The 6-foot-4, 294-pounder amassed 42 combined tackles (8.5 for a loss) and 6.5 sacks for the Mustangs en route to a first-team All-ACC selection.

Harrison-Hunte would spend much of the 2025 campaign on the Panthers' practice squad, and did not appear in a regular-season game.

The Cardinals got an up-close look at the 26-year-old back on Aug. 6, during the Hall of Fame Game. Harrison-Hunte recorded a sack of rookie quarterback Carson Beck in Carolina's 33-30 win .
