The Boston Bruins ( prospects ) are back on the ice.

The Bruins and Sabres opened the Prospects Showcase yesterday in Buffalo . The Bruins jumped out to a lead immediately and got contributions from five different goal scorers, while Max Lundgren stopped all but two.

Elsewhere around the league, the NHL is continuing its top 50 players right now list. There is more on Adam Fantilli , who is still unsigned in Columbus. The Canadiens signed a 23-year-old to a four-year deal, and the Blue Jackets handed out a PTO.

PROSPECTS SHOWCASE : The Bruins are back… kind of. The prospects took to the ice for the first game of the Prospects Showcase. Attilio Biasca got the scoring started 25 seconds in, and he was one of five goal scorers for the black and gold yesterday. James Hagens ? He centered the first line and scored twice.

The two Sabres goals were on the power play.

The Bruins are back on the ice today at noon for Game 2 .

NHL.com : The NHL Network's top 50 players right now list continues to roll out. Yesterday, Nos. 30-21 were revealed, and five of the players play in the Atlantic Division.

NHLTradeRumors.me : Adam Fantilli is still unsigned. He has not been at Blue Jackets' team events ahead of training camp, and with a few days to go before camp starts, there has not been much progress in extension talks. Danny Briere changed the market when he handed Leo Carlsson an offer sheet with an $18M AAV, and that's directly impacting the Fantilli negotiations.

The Blue Jackets have $12,645,001 in cap space.

Montreal Hockey Now : The Montreal Canadiens signed forward Zachary Bolduc to a 4x$4.2M extension yesterday. The 23-year-old did not have a contract going into this season, and his usage gets a little more complicated after the Chris Kreider signing. Sportsnet : The Canadiens are making an easy bet on Chris Kreider 's experience and offensive upside. Kreider left bigger deals on the table to land in Montreal, according to his agent, but the fit and comfort level played a factor.

Pittsburgh Hockey Now : The Penguins went from the tournament in Buffalo to a tournament in Detroit . They dominated Columbus on Saturday, then played the host Red Wings on Sunday and won in a shootout. Tomas Galvas , who scored this goal, became the story this weekend for Pittsburgh . San Jose Hockey Now : Vibes are high in San Jose. The Los Angeles Kings were in town for the Rookie Faceoff, and the Sharks won 8-1. Sheng Peng has more from the locker room, including conversations with Ivar Stenberg and Andre Gasseau .

TSN : The Columbus Blue Jackets signed defenseman Carson Soucy to a PTO yesterday. Soucy, 32, played for the Rangers and Islanders last season and had 12 points (5-7–12) in 76 games.
