‘I see a man…’ A’ja Wilson on ‘unacceptable’ courtside altercation with Indiana Fever fan

The Indiana Fever 's Game 2 win against the Las Vegas Aces was marred by an unfortunate altercation between a fan and A'ja Wilson. She addressed it after the game.

Facing elimination in front of their home crowd, the Indiana Fever put in an excellent performance against the Las Vegas Aces to win Game 2 99-89.

Late in the game, though, Sophie Cunningham was called for a foul which led to something unpleasant. Aces star A'ja Wilson ended up getting into a heated argument with a fan sitting courtside.

The fan was temporarily removed from their seat after the confrontation with Wilson. However, the fan was allowed to return later. After the game, Wilson explained her side of things.

Emotions tend to get heated in the playoffs, and this seems like another example of that. Wilson spoke after the game about the situation, explaining which behaviours she can no longer tolerate.

The Fever's statement suggested that there was no violation of the Fan Code of Conduct. A'ja also addressed that, and the fact that the fan was allowed back in the arena.

"I don't know if you guys know me… I try to play my game and keep it pushing," Wilson said. "But if I'm just walking, because I just got the foul and I'm chilling…

"If I see a man, come at me. Taking steps towards me and pointing at me? I don't give a d*** what you said. I don't give a d*** how you said it, your tone… That is unacceptable.

"You don't step towards me and point at me. I'm not for that s***, at all. Excuse my French. That there is unacceptable. And how he gets back in the game, because they said he didn't do anything…

"Of course he didn't. And that's fine. I apologised to my team because I got us a tech. But it's just certain things I'm just not going to allow anymore."

Wilson is one of the WNBA's most decorated superstars, among the greatest of all time. It seems she has now decided what she's willing to put up with and what she isn't. The hope will be that something like this doesn't happen again.
