From bad to worse for Man Utd as third player suffers injury scare on international duty

Noussair Mazraoui is the latest Manchester United player to suffer an injury scare while on international duty.

The full-back was spotted clutching his lower back and writhing in pain on the floor after a collision during Morocco 's clash with Lesotho, which led to him being hooked in the 68th minute.

Mazraoui adds to injury concerns for United

What's now particularly concerning for Michael Carrick is that Mazraoui's setback comes just days after Patrick Dorgu , who's United's only other option to deputise when Luke Shaw is unavailable, appeared to suffer a non-contact injury while in action on Sunday.

The former defender-turned-winger was subsequently withdrawn from the Denmark camp in order for him to return to Carrington for treatment, so fans are anxiously awaiting clarification on his condition.

Over the weekend, Portugal manager Jorge Jesus revealed that Bruno Fernandes had arrived for duty already carrying a knock, hence his omission for Portugal's win over Norway .

Reports later clarified that the midfield talisman had taken hits to his fitness levels during United's Champions League opener, leading to him having to pass late tests in order to feature against Manchester City and Fulham .

Fernandes has since resumed training with his international teammates and is in line to play on Thursday. However, United will undoubtedly be keeping a close eye on how he fares and the minutes he plays.

One welcome update on the injury front that was revealed on Tuesday is that Amad Diallo is poised to make his return from his setback for United's first game back in action against Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday, October 10.

The 24-year-old has yet to feature this season, so he'll be chomping at the bit to get back out on the pitch and try and make an impact.
