Brandt Snedeker makes comment about Donald Trump and Jackson Koivun after the USA win the Presidents Cup

Brandt Snedeker captained the United States Presidents Cup team to victory at Medinah in the end.

It's fair to say that the US won the Presidents Cup in spite of Snedeker, not because of him, as harsh as that may sound.

After his team won the singles by a scoreline of 9.5–2.5, the US captain made some interesting comments about Donald Trump and Jackson Koivun.

Donald Trump made a speech on the first tee ahead of the Sunday singles at Medinah in an attempt to inspire the US Presidents Cup team.

Jackson Koivun was one of the standout performers for the Americans, winning a vital point against the Internationals' star man.

And Snedeker praised the influences of both Trump and Koivun after the United States romped to victory on Sunday at Medinah.

Snedeker spoke to reporters after his team got the job done on Sunday, and he responded when asked how he felt about the win over the Internationals.

" Yeah, pretty good. You asked me some pretty tough questions this morning, " he said.

" I think these guys never lost faith. I know what that team room is like. I told the guys last night that funny stuff happens here. Medinah has a history of funny things happening. Sure enough, they went out and played their a–––– off today. I'm so proud of those guys.

" I cannot get over what Jackson Koivun did today. I put him in a really tough spot out there. We thought he could handle it. Sure enough, he did. He went out there and looked like the stud we know he's going to be. So proud of Jacob Bridgeman getting his first point as a Presidents Cup rookie.

" All these guys fought for each other, fought for this country, fought for this team. And one last shout out to Donald Trump, President Trump. He told me I was going to bring some energy today for you guys, you guys need it, and I told him if we did this, he gets all the credit. Thank you, President Trump. "

Brandt Snedeker praises Jackson Koivun after USA's Presidents Cup win

Snedeker was also asked about Koivun's performance on Sunday at Medinah.

" The kid is special. He's different, " the 46-year-old replied.

" You saw that for a 21-year-old kid to stand up there and hit those last two balls like he did, not many people like that. I've got a team full of them over there but they're very rare to find.

" He's a great kid, got a great family. I got to meet his parents this weekend, and they've done a great job raising that young man. I'm so proud of him. "

Koivun showed up when it mattered during the Sunday singles at the Presidents Cup.

And him turning around his match against Si Woo Kim played a huge role in the Americans' getting the better of the Internationals.
