Report: Warriors offering 'menu' of contract extensions to Stephen Curry
The Golden State Warriors are offering Stephen Curry all sorts of options when it comes to a contract extension.
Golden State star Stephen Curry recently (August 29) became eligible to sign a max contract extension; however, the Davidson product has yet to put pen to paper. Curry has only one season remaining on his current deal, giving him a chance to reach free agency last summer. Although he was injured for nearly half of the season, Curry still performed well on the court, averaging 26.6 points, 4.7 assists, 3.6 rebounds and 1.1 steals.
According to Golden State insider Anthony Slater, the Warriors have been quite accommodating in early negotiations. "They're not like negotiating with Steph Curry right now. They are saying, 'You can do this, you can do this, you can do this. If you want the one-year max, if you want the two-year max, if you want to wait, here's your menu. Pick off your menu,'" said Slater.
Considering Golden State is happy to re-sign Curry under any circumstances, it's truly up to the 17-year veteran to pick the deal that best suits him. However, if the four-time NBA champion doesn't re-sign this summer, it could cause worry and division among the franchise's front office.
