Saints announce another 2026 draft pick is going to injured reserve

Another New Orleans Saints draft pick is going on injured reserve to start the season: safety Lorenzo Styles Jr., who the team picked in the sixth round out of Ohio State. Styles is an exceptional athlete on special teams, quickly getting downfield to cover punts and kickoffs, but he picked up a calf injury a few weeks back that's going to cost him some time. He's eligible to return after Week 4. Styles made the cut for the initial 53-man roster, so stay tuned for an update on how the Saints plan to address that vacancy.

Styles isn't the first saints rookie to go on injured reserve; he's joining first-round pick Jordyn Tyson, whose hamstring issues are expected to keep him sidelined for up to two months. It's disappointing to see young players having their rookie debut delayed like this, but so long as they get back on the field and make some plays to help their team, it'll soon be forgotten.
