Auburn football's struggles with the pass against LSU highlight advanced stats
From protecting its quarterback to to defending its opponent in coverage, the passing game plagued Auburn football throughout its loss to LSU.
The "highs of highs" were met with the "low of lows," head coach Alex Golesh said, as Auburn football went from toppling No. 1 on the road to rolling over at home, to losing 38-17 to No. 17 LSU on Saturday, Oct. 25.
After working through its pre-open week struggles against top-ranked Georgia, Auburn had plenty of familiar problems persist against LSU, surrendering seven sacks and falling out of rhythm on offense, while its defense was picked apart and failed to adjust throughout.
"That was a really, really bad performance on both sides," Golesh said postgame. "There's no silver lining, no anything. That was bad in every imaginable way."
Here is a look at the nitty-gritty of it, with a breakdown of Auburn's snap counts and Pro Football Focus advanced statistics from the loss to LSU.
