49ers veteran pass rusher suffers injury in 4th quarter vs. Seahawks
The San Francisco 49ers have been banged up on the edge this year, and they've now lost another defensive end on Sunday.
The San Francisco 49ers have been banged up along their defensive line all year with Alfred Collins, C.J. West, Andrew Farmer II and Mikail Kamara on injured reserve. Mykel Williams was just activated this week, and Nick Bosa has been out as well.
On Sunday, the 49ers lost another key piece to their defensive front as defensive end/linebacker Khalid Kareem suffered an injury on a first-and-10 completion between Sam Darnold and Jaxson Smith-Njigba in the fourth quarter.
Kareem signed with the 49ers just before their Week 1 matchup with the Los Angeles Rams in Australia, and he's been in the mix on the edge since then. San Francisco will roll with Williams, Keion White, Romello Height (with a club on one hand) and Ogbo Okoronkwo if Kareem can't go.
UPDATE : Kareem has a stinger and is expected to return at some point during the fourth quarter.
