Report: Jonathan Taylor trade talks 'active and ongoing' for Colts
The Indianapolis Colts are "open to trading" star running back Jonathan Taylor, according to Adam Schefter.
The Indianapolis Colts are "open to trading" star running back Jonathan Taylor, according to NFL insiders Adam Schefter and Ian Rapoport.
This report differs from others that have been out there. Previously, reports stated that while trading Taylor was still a possibility, the Colts wanted to keep him on the team as a key part of the rebuild.
But now, the Colts seem ready to move on if the price is right.
Schefter adds that "multiple teams" have reached out to the Colts and those conversations are "active and ongoing."
ESPN's Jeremy Fowler added that Taylor could net the Colts a "second-round pick and more" in return.
Although Taylor just signed a two-year, $44 million contract extension prior to the season, the contract is movable if needed.
Taylor continues to be one of the most productive backs in football, totaling 587 yards with eight rushing touchdowns. He doesn't have a 100-yard game this season, but has hit the 90-yard mark in five of seven games.
