Patriots down to third-string guard after Greg Van Roten injury

The New England Patriots offensive line took another hit on Sunday.

During the second quarter, starting right guard Greg Van Roten left the game with a thigh injury. He is questionable to return.

Van Roten drew his first start of the season on Sunday in placed of the injured Mike Onwenu , who landed on injured reserve this week with an ankle injury.

In Van Roten's absence, the Patriots turned to Walter Rouse at right guard. Rouse, a former offensive tackle who converted to guard this summer, was acquired by the Patriots from the Minnesota Vikings for a late-round pick swap during roster cutdown.

New England 's game day roster also includes Ben Brown and rookie offensive tackle Caleb Lomu along the offensive line.
