Colts add cornerback, pass rusher to Week 8 game-day roster

The Indianapolis Colts are elevating two players from the practice squad for Sunday's Week 8 game against the Jacksonville Jaguars .

The team announced on Saturday that cornerback Johnathan Edwards and defensive end Carl Lawson will be added to the game-day roster.

Edwards will bolster the cornerback depth with Justin Walley sidelined due to a knee injury and Cam Taylor-Britt on IR.

His primary role is likely to come on special teams, with Charvarius Ward, Sauce Gardner, and Kapena Gushiken starting at the three cornerback positions.

Lawson will add to the pass rush rotation that is still without Arden Key and Micheal Clemons, both of whom remain on injured reserve.

Neither Edwards or Lawson has seen any game action this season. Players can be elevated to the game-day roster up to three times.
