It was another productive week for New York Rangers prospects across the CHL and USHL, highlighted by a breakout offensive performance from Kingston defenseman Andre Mondoux .
Several prospects continued strong starts to their seasons, while others battled through mixed results as league play intensifying here in October.
Rangers Prospect of The Week – Andre Mondoux (Kingston Frontenacs)
Last Thursday night featured an OHL matchup between Rangers defenseman prospects, when Mondoux and the Kingston Frontenacs skated to a 7-4 win over Evan Passmore and the Barrie Colts.
Mondoux turned in the best offensive performance of his OHL career, recording two goals and one assist for a career-high three-point night. His efforts earned him second-star honors
Mondoux scored twice in the second period, including the game-tying goal at 11:57. The 19-year-old followed that up by picking up a secondary assist on the go-ahead — eventual game-winning — goal by Alex Misiak 5:44 into the third period.

The following night, Mondoux scored his third goal in two games, when the Frontenacs defeated the Brampton Steelheads 4-2. With Kingston trailing 1-0 in the first period, Mondoux blasted a shot home after stepping in from the left point to tie the game.

Mondoux extended his point streak to three games with an assist Saturday against the Brantford Bulldogs in a 4-2 victory.
As impressive as the offensive production was, Mondoux likely should use his heavy shot more consistently. He recorded five shots against Barrie but managed only one against Brampton and didn't record one against Brantford.
Mondoux is tied for third on Kingston with four goals, and has seven points in 10 games.
Rest of Rangers Prospects in CHL and USHL
It was another frustrating week for Passmore as Barrie lost each of its three games.
On Thursday against Mondoux and Kingston, Passmore was held scoreless despite recording five shots on goal. He finished the game with a minus-one rating.
Saturday saw Niagara hand Barrie a 4-2 defeat. Passmore, Barrie's captain, again didn't record a point.
On Sunday, Barrie traveled to Erie to face the Otters. Though the Colts lost 3-2, Passmore provided one of the bright spots, scoring his second goal of the season. With Barrie trailing 2-0 in the second period, Passmore joined an odd-man rush and beat the Erie goaltender at 7:09 to pull his team within one at 2-1.
Passmore has two goals, 16 penalty minutes and is minus-6 in nine games this season.
Wednesday against the Kitchener Rangers, Darian Anderson picked up a primary assist when he slipped a pass between two Rangers defenders to find Cooper Williams alone in front for a goal. Williams walked in and snapped a shot over the shoulder of Kitchener's goalie to give Flint a 3-1 lead, in what ended up to be a 5-2 victory.
The assist extended Anderson's season-opening point streak to six games.
Saturday, the 19-year-old forward added two more assists to his ledger. Just one minute into the game, Anderson earned a secondary assist when he moved the puck to Jimmy Lombardi, who found Williams for a one-timer that beat Sarnia goaltender Ivan Tkach-Tkachenko and gave the Firebirds an early 1-0 lead.

Later, with Flint clinging to a 5-4 lead, killing a penalty, and under a minute remaining in regulation, Anderson set up Lombardi for the empty-net short-handed insurance goal at 19:45 to seal the 6-4 victory.
The leading scorer among Rangers prospects, Anderson has a seven-game point streak, leads Flint with five goals, and is second with 10 points.
Spencer Bowes began his week by scoring Ottawa's lone goal in a 2-1 overtime loss to Niagara on Thursday. His goal came at 7:01 of the third period and tied the game. It also extended his season-opening ppint streak to six games.
The 2026 fourth-round draft pick was held off the score-sheet Saturday against Erie for the first time this season, but still contributed in Ottawa's 3-0 shutout victory. The forward finished with three shots on goal, a plus-one rating, and won six of his 11 face-offs.
On Sunday, Bowes picked up his sixth goal of the season, when the 67's needed a shootout to defeat Brantford 4-3. With Ottawa trailing 1-0 in the first period, Bowes got his team back on even terms when he fired a shot from a sharp angle that appeared to bounce off the end boards, then off the Bulldogs goaltender and into the net.

Bowes ends the week as the leading goal scorer among Rangers prospects with six. He's tied for eighth in the OHL goal-scoring race and also has eight points in eight games.
Zeb Lindgren recorded his third assist of the season 35 seconds into the third period of Red Deer's 8-5 victory over the Calgary Hitmen on Friday. While the final score appeared close, Red Deer controlled much of the game and at one point held a commanding 7-3 lead.
On Canadian Thanksgiving on Monday, Lindgren was held off the score-sheet but was credited with one shot on goal when Red Deer earned a 4-0 victory over the Edmonton Oil Kings, their fourth consecutive win.
The 19-year-old defenseman has three assists and is plus-6 in nine game games for the Rebels, who sit atop the Central Division in the WHL with a 6-2-0-1 record.
Defenseman Artem Gonchar was scoreless and recorded two shots on goal while also taking a hooking minor Thursday, when the Sudbury suffered their first loss of the season, falling 4-3 in overtime to North Bay.
Friday saw the Wolves fall behind the Peterborough Petes 3-1 before launching a comeback. It was Gonchar who got Sudbury going, setting up Rowan Hendrickson for a power-play goal at 7:14 of the second period.
It was Gonchar's only point of the game, but it helped spark six unanswered goals by the Wolves, and Sudbury rallied for a 7-3 victory. The win improved the Wolves to 6-0-1 on the season. They are the only OHL team without a regulation loss , and are currently first in the Central Division.
Friday was a difficult outing for goaltender Danai Shaiikov , who was pulled at the 6:38 mark of the second period with the Olympiques trailing the Baie-Comeau Drakkar 3-1. He allowed three goals on nine shots and appeared uncomfortable throughout the game.
Fortunately for Shaiikov and the team, backup goaltender Finn Moffett stopped all 11 shots he faced. Gatineau rallied to erase the deficit, and forced overtime before ultimately winning 4-3 in a shootout. The comeback spared Shaiikov from being charged with the loss.
Sunday brought more struggles when Shaiikov surrendered five goals on 22 shots in a 6-3 loss to the Val-d'Or Foreurs.
The difficult weekend took a toll on his statistics. Skaiikov fell to 3-1-2, while his goals-against average rose to 3.23 and his save percentage dropped to an unsightly .868.
On Monday, Shaiikov served as the backup goaltender, when the Olympiques lost 3-2 to the Chicoutimi Saguenéens.
On Friday, Felix Farhammar saw his five-game point streak come to an end, when the Muskegon Lumberjacks fell 5-0 to the Chicago Steel in USHL action. Farhammar was credited with two shots on goal and finished the game with a minus-2 rating.
Saturday saw Farhammar bounce back with a secondary assist on Muskegon's second goal in a 5-4 loss to Chicago. New York's 2025 seventh-round pick was not credited with a shot on goal and finished the contest with a minus-1 rating.
Farhammar continues to make a strong impression in the early stages of his USHL career. He's third on Muskegon with six points (two goals, four assists) in eight games.
