Two kids turned a K-State weather delay into must-see entertainment, evading security and drawing cheers from the crowd at Bill Snyder Family Stadium.
MANHATTAN — A pair of children ran on the field and evaded security during a weather delay at halftime of Kansas State 's matchup with Washington State on Saturday, Sept. 12.
A child in white and another in Wazzu maroon entertained the crowd as they waited for play to resume. The kiddo in maroon lasted the longest , running across the entire field before cutting back to run in front of the K-State student section.
After the kid in maroon was caught, the Kansas State student section cheered for someone wearing Cougars clothing all afternoon.
Kansas State led 17-7 at halftime. The second half was close to beginning before a lightning strike put the game on delay. The Cougars scored their touchdown on a 50-yard interception return on the final play of the first half.
The Wildcats' defense has held the Cougars to 84 yards at the break. Avery Johnson has completed 14 of 22 passes for 134 yards, two touchdowns and two picks. Josh Manning has seven catches for 52 yards and a score.
